Sammy SchulmanFor Sammy Schulman, being involved with Federation is a foundation of the family. His father had been involved in the Jewish Federation in Louisville, Kentucky, and his wife, Ibby, has been an integral part of the Jewish Federation of Broward County since 2001. He says that becoming part of an organization like this was not only an opportunity to give back to the community but a way to meet wonderful Jewish people who were also committed to the community.

Jeff SandlerFive years ago, Jeff Sandler received his first taste of the Jewish Federation of Broward County through its “Mini-Mission,” a three-hour bus tour that traveled to three of the Federation’s local beneficiary agencies. Participants in the mission meet with the Executive Directors of the beneficiary agencies and gain tremendous insight into what the Federation does for the people they serve. Jeff was very impressed with the wonderful work of the beneficiary agencies and the role Federation plays in supporting their mission.

Tom KatzTom Katz’s family ties with the Jewish Federation run deep. His grandfather and father were extremely involved with the United Jewish Appeal, and his family has long been associated with the Federation movement in South Florida. Tom’s father was president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hollywood years before the organization became the Jewish Federation of Broward County, and then became the first President of the newly-formed Jewish Federation of Broward County.

Sheryl GreenwaldSheryl Greenwald learned about the Jewish Federation of Broward County about a year and half ago, when some of her friends introduced her to the Women’s Executive Council (WEC). Sheryl, who has been in the commercial lending department of Comerica Bank for the last 15 years, loved the idea of meeting other successful Jewish business women in the area.

Alan BeckerAlan Becker has been personally committed to the Jewish Federation of Broward County for more than 30 years. Several years ago he had the opportunity to travel to Israel with the Federation on two separate missions. Those experiences showed him the tremendous needs of the Jewish community both domestically and in Israel, and the important work that the Federation undertakes to meet those needs.
